Terras de Bouro

Terras de Bouro is a markedly rural municipality, where, however, there is no shortage of attractions to visit. Located on the south bank of the Homem River and right in the heart of the Peneda-Gerês National Park, here you will find landscapes of rare and extreme natural beauty, such as its lagoons, waterfalls and virgin forest. In addition to the National Park, Caldas do Gerês and the Sanctuary of São Bento da Porta Aberta are also points of great interest. The region's gastronomy offers the Terras de Bouro stew (similar to the Portuguese stew, but with beans), Toca-style pork stew and roast kid, all accompanied by the region's red Vinho Verde wines. To finish the meal, try the typical rice pudding.
