The interior has Mannerist gilded altarpiece. The throne of the altarpiece-mor features scenes of Christ's passion. Windows neomanuelinas in the lateral façades and, inside, the altarpiece of Mannerist gilded chancel.

A 16th century temple, it underwent significant changes in the 18th century. The "rocaille" facade features two towers and a Manueline portal. It has a precious set of tile panels from the 18th century: the chancel chest (Ascension), tympanum (Resurrection) and chancel (Saint James fighting the Moors, the battle of Lepanto and scenes from the Gospel).

Of the original temple, which underwent modifications in the 17th and 18th centuries, only a Manueline door and a transept remain. The side portico, dating from 1670, is flanked by four Ionic columns. Worthy of note are the tilework, carvings, 17th-century paintings, coffered ceilings, 17th-century paintings, and the 18th-century nativity scene.

This is an ensemble with 6 paths of Roman roads, that it were probably built between the I and IV centuries. They are composed by curvilinear traces with rectilinear trends and the pavement was in granite blocks. It has one bridge with a perfect curve arch probably built on the XVIII and XII centuries.
