A village located at an altitude of about one thousand metres, part of the so-called "Terra Fria" (Cold Land). It gave its name to the Natural Park of Montesinho, of which it is a part. A special note to the beautiful surrounding landscapes, with the green of the morasses in contrast with golden and reddish of the woods and to the popular buildings in schist and granite. Its inhabitants still maintain some ancient communal uses. Do visit the "casa abrigo" (shelter house) and the dam. The area is also good for mountainering.
