Traditional crafts such as shoemaking, saddlery, barber, farrier, blacksmith, carpenter, caulker, cooper are represented here, and objects from the various activities carried out in the region since the end of the 19th century are on display, such as agricultural implements, household utensils, costumes, embroidery , photographs, furniture, basketwork, toys and ceramics.

The ancient Citadel, as well as important sections of the wall that surrounded the population, are still preserved. Archaeological work carried out in the Citadel of the Castle uncovered a Moorish quarter of centuries XII\/XIII, and various Roman structures of the 4th century. The Arab ceramic pieces found are exposed in the core of the Museum of Mértola.

This is a mediaeval temple which underwent several reforms on the 16th and 17th centuries. The portico is dated from 1688. The golden carved altar shelters the famous wooden sculpture from Mont’iraz Christ dated from the 13th century. It stands out the glazed tiles coverage from the 17th century.

This construction from the 15th century has undergone some improvements. The portico which dates from the 16th century, it is an example from the manueline – mudejar style. This church is composed by one only nave with a Latin cross plan. On the inside of the building, one stands out the carving and the painted panels.

Temple built in the 16th century, where the valuable contents stand out. Inside, the Chapel of Nosso Senhor dos Mareantes is worth mentioning, with carvings and imagery from the 16th and 17th centuries, some panels illustrating episodes of the Passion of Christ and, in the vault, polychrome relief representations of a popular nature.

Also called the Jesus church, it was rebuilt after the earthquake. At the interior body of the façade are arcades with iron gates, sided by Doric pilasters. The second body, cut out and backed on the sides, has three big windows. Inside are worthy of notice the glazed tiles, the paintings, the carved retables and the sculptures.

Built on the 16th century this pillory was reconstructed in 2001. It has a square platform with three steps. Here lays a square plinth from where a prismatic shaft comes out finished by a small octave ring. The capital is prismatic and octagonal and delimited by concave frames on the base and top and crowned by a pyramid.

It borders the municipality of Murtosa and has Caniçal as its predominant habitat. The Mallard and the Moorhen are some of the most observed water birds, and as for birds of prey, the most common is the Western Marsh Harrier. Other animals stand out, such as the Common Reed Bunting, the Weasel, the Mediterranean Tree Frog and the Brown Rat.

Restaurant belonging to the Vintage Lisboa Hotel, situated between the Avenida da Liberdade and the Prince Royal. Divided into two distinct areas, the restaurant and bar with snacks, both decorated in classic and elegant style. The letter based on a composition of traditional Portuguese dishes, out of the hands of chef Victor Cardoso.

The "Centro Comercial Brasília" (Brasília Mall) stands out for having some clothes and shoes shops. There are 41 shops in total, distributed by 3 floors, in a total area of 2830 m2. It does not have any hypermarket nor any supermarket. Nevertheless, it has a privileged location in the centre of the town.
