Built in the 1930’s, the name of this garden with romantic characteristics is due to the former owner of this area, the judge of the high court Cunha Thorel. It has interesting flower beds, lovely shades, and small corners giving you privacy and a great view of down town. The Torel garden also has an elegant gate, two lakes, one of them with an old spring, a statue representing the bust of the piano player Viana da Mota, card-tables and traces of what might have been, during the XVII and XVIII centuries, a magnificent farm.

Located 25 kilometers from the town center is this monument of probable Arab origin. Rebuilt after the 1531 earthquake, it features an interesting sculpture above the main gate, where three castles and an eagle are visible. After assuming great defensive importance, it lost its usefulness over the years, and only between 1941 and 1954 did it undergo renovations that gave it its current appearance, with two towers. It served as a prison during the Middle Ages.

Nuno Gonçalves was Alcaide-mor of the Castle de Faria, in the reign of Ferdinand I of Portugal. At this point the troops of Castile invaded our country. Taken prisoner by the Castilians, was taken to the walls of Castelo de Faria, in an attempt to convince his son, Gonçalo Nunes, then Chief of the garrison, to surrender. However, Nuno Gonçalves took the opportunity to urge his son to the resistance, and was promptly shot down. This episode became a legend and narrated by Alexandre Herculano.

Upon arrival, a viewpoint with a chapel awaits us, from which the name of the beach derives. Located between cliffs, this beach offers excellent conditions for pleasant days in the sun. The beach has a concession area, as there are several tourist sets nearby. Boats depart from here to visit the cliff caves that abound here.

This 2-kilometer hiking trail reaches a maximum altitude of 504 meters. After walking for 1 kilometer on a paved road, you'll find a dirt path on the right and enter the forest. These first few kilometers are relaxing, and hikers can enjoy a refreshing dip in the mineral water at one of the accessible springs along this trail and visit the remains of an ancient tomb.

Isolated religious monument, similar construction at the same time, in this region. The simplicity of its lines is visible. The façade includes a portal back perfect and two Windows. The light enters through Windows that are at the level of the high altar and illuminate the entire ship. Inside stands the wooden altarpiece revival of Mannerist structure. This chapel was rebuilt in 1910 and remained the most characteristic features.

This cultural space moved to this new building in 2007. Here there are several cultural and recreational events. It is still the headquarters of the Cultural Association of Lage.

Spacious garden with various tree species, benches and playground. One of the ex-libris of Borba is located here, the Fonte das Bicas.

A wide, pleasant garden, located in the centre of the town, with nice flower areas and the typical Portuguese sidewaljks. The tourism office is located here.

A belvedere with sea views and steep cliffs as often happens in the Madeira island. From here on can view the village of Porto Moniz.
