Strong pentagonal plant, once intended for the defense of the city of Horta and its port of pirates attacks. Have been named, initially, of Forte de Santo António and was built in the second half of the 16th century. The original defensive system only the outer walls. Was ceded, in 1927, the Town Hall of Horta to be torn down and increase the avenida marginal. However, the lack of funds meant that the plans were not fulfilled. In 1947 it was classified as National Monument and in 1969 an Inn was built in its interior, today "Pousada de Portugal".

Building of great architectural value, whose Church dates back to the beginning of the second half of the 16th century. It consists of three naves and four sections. The chancel, pombalina, decorating is covered by a false dome and another highlight, the holy water and sinks both late-Baroque side altarpieces. The niche also late-Baroque, the sink and the tile Ashlar are worthy of appreciation. The party functioned as hospital is perpendicular to the Church, has two floors and date from the first half of the 18th century and today operates as a Museum of contemporary art.

Palace built by Councillor José Victorino Zuzarte Coelho da Silveira, with interior decoration highly sponsored by owner José Maria Silveira Menezes, in the second half of the 19th century. In this 2 floors building, the interior stairway and the neoclassic tiles that ornament the forecourt stand out. The upper floor is more noble for its decorative riches. It has an outstanding iron balcony that ends in a curved fronton with a coat of arms above the main entrance.
