The cinema Roma, opened in 1957 and inactive since August, 1988, is now remodelled, it has a large playhouse equipped with the most modern screening technologies, sound and image. This small, rectangular fort was built in the 18th close to the location of a previous fort dedicated to St Ignacio. This previous fort, located on a cliff, was destroyed when the cliff fell into the sea during the 1755 earthquake. This lead to the new fort being built further back than the one dedicated to St Ignacio. The presence of a fort at this site was necessary for protecting the tunny traps located througout the coast. The fort is now in ruins.

With the original name of Royal College of the Overseas Missions, was built by Dom João VI in 1794. Emphasis on the tiles, depicting scenes of colonial evangelism, as well as for its imposing library with approximately 7,300 works. In the Church of the seminary, deserves special attention the high altar of style hispano-Arabic and the magnificent 18TH century bellows organ, and several paintings of the painter Bento Coelho da Silveira. The seminar also explores the agricultural strand through a large production of wine, marketed under the brand name "lands of d. Nuno".
