The Natural Park encompasses the important São Mamede mountain range. This is the only natural park in the northern Alentejo region, and its mission is to protect natural resources and flora and fauna, as well as the regional geomorphology and landscape.

A 300 metres long pedestrian walk along the Pescaria Mountain, a place with a privileged belvedere abov the Salgado Beach. This mountain stands out for its lovely mills and farm lands.

It's a "must-see" stop for anyone heading up to the Serra da Estrela mountain range via the EN339 from Covilhã, as this viewpoint offers magnificent views of the city itself and the surrounding Cova da Beira region. Right next to the road, on a sharp bend, you'll find an exit that allows you to enjoy one of the best panoramic views in the area. Further up you'll find Penhas da Saúde, a mountain village.

A very old village located on the foothills of the Serra da Estrela, it has a section of Roman road. The main church, known as the Catedral das Beiras, stands out. It is a large temple with gilded carvings, a ceiling with 102 paintings, and liturgical vestments. Nearby, the "Curral dos Romanos," also known as the Dólmen da Sobreda (Property of Public Interest), a curious olive press from the medieval period, in the town of Rio de Mel, and the Penedo da Moura, a natural cave, are worth a visit.

Very old mountain village, populated long before the Foundation of Portugal, probably in Arab or Roman times. It is located in the northeast of the municipality, next to the Cabreira and Baçô mountains, which originate from the Serra da Estrela. Panoramic swings located in the Serra da Lomba mountain range, at an altitude of 990 meters. One of these swings overlooks the Mondego Valley and the other the town of Celorico da Beira.

A hiking trail approximately eight kilometers long, passing through the Serra da Malcata Nature Reserve. It is a circular route that begins and ends at the Ribeira da Meimoa Dam.
