This space addresses the themes of smuggling and emigration, two social phenomena that have marked the region's recent history. The aim is to remember the clandestine and dangerous life of many men and women from Melgaço.

“Bairro do Casal” is located in the village of Murça, on a beautiful slope near the Douro river, 15 km away from Vila Nova de Foz Côa in the Oporto Wine region.

Dating from the 17th century, this House is linked to important political events in the region. It is situated in the Valley between the serra da Cabreira da do Gerês, minutes from the National Park.

Work by the architect Francisco José de Abreu, it is part of the set of Passos in this region, which are among the largest in the country. The jambs are decorated with volutes of vegetal elements. The vault and walls covered in murals.

A green area of great beauty, with many trees offering shade and an area for picnics. It is located in the Montesinho Natural Park and is bathed by the Tuela River. There is a support bar and a craft store with regional pieces.

Beach next to the natural pools of Porto Moniz, a true highlight of the region. These peculiarly shaped volcanic rock formations create water basins, with a large tourist charisma, where bathing is possible.

A refined restaurant with a privileged view of the city, of the sea and of the Lima river. It has traditional Portuguese dishes, most especially from the northern regions. Friendly and effective service. Good wine list.

A rather old restaurant, with large, comfortable rooms. It serves quite well prepared dishes of the Minho region. Fast and kind service. It was deeply remodelled in 2004 and is now a mandatory point of interest.

Friendly and welcoming space to offer magnificent views of the coast of São Mateus da Calheta. The rustic decor but exquisite, coupled with competent service and good regional dishes, ensures a good meal.

Rustic and cosy restaurant with stone walls and wooden ceilings, proposing a full menu of regional dishes. His specialty is the soup of horns, plate created more than thirty years by the owner.
