This privileged location made it a coveted region for ancient peoples, with human presence dating back to the Paleolithic period proven. The Côa Valley Archaeological Park, the world's largest open-air archaeological museum, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and, of course, the region's main attraction, was born there.
