A small urban cluster where houses with characteristics similar to traditional Algarve architecture stand out amidst dense vegetation. Here you can also find some old wells and lagoons. However, its biggest tourist attraction is the country's first sensory ecopark, designed especially for the blind.

Projected by the architect Souto Moura in 1980, it was finished in 1991. On the garden’s side the wall is of stone, but the house opens to the city on the north side, through a glass wall, which lights up the inside. The house presents collective exhibitions and, add to this, it also organizes events related to theatre and cinema, at the auditorium.

File created in 1965 but only opened to the public in 1971. It currently has a documentary collection with more than 150,000 titles. Its building has a reading room, a room for viewing microfilms, a room of indexes, a multipurpose room with support of bar and Café, an area of treatment of documentation and ten deposits.

Magnificent Hotel, with an avant-garde design which nevertheless fits perfectly into the landscape of Alentejo. Opened at the beginning of 2009, this is the first hotel in the village of Avis. This project, designed by Pedro Veiga and Klaus Gruner, extends for about 47 hectares, including a 25-metre pool and a space for treatment of horses.

Opened in 2007, this large and pleasant Park offers a set of infrastructures, such as a multiúsos room (room Atlantic), a music room, a mine visitable, an outdoor amphitheatre, a playground, a ring, a weight room and cardio-fitness room, squash courts, tennis courts, a mini-golf course and a few commercial areas.

Built in the XVII century, it suffered reconstruction works after the earthquake. At the cloister, squared, open arched galleries that lodge the chapels of the Senhor dos Passos and the Encarnação, covered with carving, sculptures and glazed tiles. The church, with one nave only, has the lateral walls covered with paintings and glazed tiles.

Is a late 17th century building, with U-shaped plant, which was the subject of magnifications in the 19th century. Solar sober with balcony, indented and endowed with solid granite bulkhead, which is access to the piano nobile and becomes functional open space. The whitewashed roof follows the local tradition, proofing the tile.

The Bar at the Pier is a convivial space of Lisbon night, located in Cais do Sodré. Features a large lounge, open and airy, divided into two areas: a dance floor and a long counter. Bet strong on programming, with relief for variants of house or techno minimal, with a poster of some DJ's already recognized.

The stadium, with a capacity of 4000 spectators, was opened in 2001. Has third generation synthetic turf, apt for the practice of soccer and rugby. It features six tracks of athletics and adjacent sectors that allow the practice of various disciplines. Is used in home games of the Clube Atlético de Valdevez sportsassociation, founded in 1945.

Opened in 1996, this museum is housed in the former Ribeira Brava brandy distillery. The space features permanent ethnographic collections, notably on fishing, transport, weaving, watermills, viticulture, and cereal processing. Temporary exhibitions are held in another room, aiming to present various themes related to Madeira's culture to the public.
