This is a huge monolith in porphyry granite, in medium grain with a longed e ellipsoidal shape. It is possible that it comes from an area with similar outcrops located about 1 Km. to the NO from the place where the Monument was primarily raised up. It was probably a menhir with 4 metres high. It is also possible to recognize in its surface some attempts to regulate it, as well as on the decorations graved in punching, namely a circle and some lines.

This was the first monument built by the Order of the Holy Sepulcher in Portuguese territory. Space in an advanced state of degradation, which includes a church and the various facilities that made up the monastery: from the space for animals to resting places. The church is surrounded by several houses, all adjacent to each other, forming an interior courtyard. Inside the church, a tombstone with inscriptions is visible right at the entrance. All spaces are dilapidated, without doors or roofs.

The coastal strip between the mouth of the Neiva River and Apulia, with a length of 18 kilometers, constitutes an ecosystem of rare importance, dominated by a stretch of sandy beach and primary and secondary dunes of great instability and at risk of erosion. The estuaries of the Neiva and Cavado rivers, as well as the pine forests and agricultural/rural areas, have just made up this protected landscape. In the rear, maritime pines protect much of the dune extension.

The restaurant "Sandeira", in the port, serves gourmet sandwiches and salads at the price of rain, 4.50 euros. For lunch, the restaurant has menus with sandwiches, soup and juice of the day by five euros. Every Thursday, the 6:30 pm to 9:0 pm, serves up an appetizer and for a fixed price of four euros, you can order any drink, with a buffet of snacks: cheese, rusks, sandwich minis or grain salads.

Bike path that goes from praia de Cabedelo to the praia da Madalena, from which are possible beautiful views over the sea.
