As one ascends to the top of one of the watchtowers in the north side of the Valença Fortress, one faces one of the most astounding landscapes in the Minho region. The river, in the background, separates the green landscapes of Portugal and Galicia. The international bridge connets the river banks. Further ahead, the houses in Tuy paint the landscape in white dots.

Huge fair tradition both in Portugal as in Spain. There are more than three hundreds and a half of tents with all kinds of articles, including local and regional crafts. Created in 1282, has toured various places since the fortress until the new and modern space that offers all the conditions for the stallholders and who the visit.

The archaeological ruins of S. Cucufate date from the 1st century AD and testify the passage of Roman civilization through the region, at a time when a villa was installed here, in the center of a farm. The archaeological excavations that were being carried out on the land also allowed the discovery of the medieval cemetery of the friars and mural paintings.

Menires megalíticos. O Menir 1 é monumento singular, pela sua forma incomum, de secção quase poligonal, de arestas muito vivas e pela dimensão. O Menir 2 enquadra-se no universo regional, de forma almendrada, do tipo "pedra talha".

Shrouded in popular legends and its origin or purpose not known for certain, Porca de Murça (Murça´s Female Pig) is an unequivocal symbol of the town, even giving its name to well-known region's wines. It is a zoomorphic stone sculpture from protohistoric times and is thought to be a votive statue to sacred animals.
