Despite its integration into the Cistercian Order, the life of this monastery was turbulent and short. During his visit in 1553, the Abbot of Clairvaux found it in a state of complete neglect and poverty, which is why it was secularized in 1560, becoming a parish church. What we see today in Ermelo is a beautiful Romanesque church adapted to the life of a small parish, first in the 16th century and again in the 18th century. Second Order Franciscan Convent - Poor Clares. Rectangular in plan, it comprises a chancel, sacristy and cloister. Its collection is vast and includes interior chapels and altars built by the nuns and mural paintings, among other remains. Today it functions as a foundation and the premises serve as an inn.

This was the convent of the order of Saint Paul Hermit and was built following the 16th-century urban expansion. It was composed by Church, chancel, cruise, sacristy and cloister. In the 20th century was adapted in order to make way for an oil refining factory. Today is privately owned and is in a poor state of conservation.

The church is located on a plain area, next to the cemetery, in a relatively isolated place, with the large churchyard standing out. It is a regular longitudinal composite plan, in the Baroque style, dating from the 18th century (more precisely from 1742), still used today in Catholic worship.

On the north side of the village, the entrance was through this door. The inscription on the tombstone that at the top of the monument attests and glorifies the election of Nossa Senhora da Conceição as the patron saint of Portugal. Today it is one of the entrances to the fence of the Convent des Augustins, given the displacement of this door for traffic requirements.

Roman bridge adapted in medieval times, transformed into a trestle deck bridge with two full arches. It has a perfect round arch of cushioned staves and a small side arch. Even today it retains the original floor made up of large slabs and stone guards.
