Access to this fajã, located between Fajã de São João and Fajã do Ginjal, is via a narrow path, where you can enjoy fantastic views. However, this route is only accessible on foot, by donkey, or on horseback. The several houses here are now inhabited only on weekends. The land is used for agricultural purposes, primarily for growing yams and vineyards.

Route that begins in the village and ends at Pico da Vara, the highest point on the island, with about 1100 meters of altitude. After reaching the peak, can choose to descend to the Algarve, the Lomba da Fazenda or go down the same path. Neste local poderá adquirir os famosos tapetes de Arraiolos, cuja manufatura foi iniciada pelos mouros, que, provavelmente, empregavam fios de lã. Mais tarde, com o incremento do turismo iniciou-se a exportação de tapetes de Arraiolos, dando origem a diversos centros de produção no país.

The Trilho do Castelo (Castle Trail) spreads along the memorable and historical Saint Isabel mountain. Ut is 16 km long, reaches an altitude of 990 metres and is of medium difficulty. There are two options: the first one, the longest, offers direct touch with the rural architectural riches of the Saint Isabel parish and the second, shorter, has beautiful landscapes and the Castle of Covide.

Here you can find the booty and the whole history of the Morris dancers of Neveiros Coentral and to its founder, Herlander Machado, in 1964, and various tributes paid to castanheirenses, their customs and to their homes.
