Currently, it is the official residence of the Minister of the Republic for the Madeira Autonomous Region.

The Church of Santa Maria de Sobretâmega is a late medieval building that, however, retains a Romanesque flavor unique to this region. The location of this church, which replaced the parish church of the former parish of São Pedro de Canaveses, was an initiative of Queen Mafalda, founder of the inn and the bridge of Canaveses. In fact, it was the construction of the bridge itself that prompted the church's new location.
Igreja Românica de São Vicente da Chã

A Romanesque-style temple of high heritage value, it was built between the 11th and 13th centuries and is located in the oldest part of the village of São Vicente, in the parish of Chã. The church consists of two rectangular naves, interconnected by two round arches and a wooden roof. In 1910, it was included in the first major Portuguese decree classifying ancient buildings as "national monuments."
