The first references to the monastery date back to 994 in the will of Abbot Randulfo, fleeing a monastery further south during the incursions of Almanzor. Although the original church does not correspond to the current Romanesque temple, its architecture left its mark on the construction that would be erected in the 13th century, thus denoting a transitional style from Romanesque to Gothic. Earthen dam located in Ribeira de Sor, an area with large cork oak forests. It was built to irrigate the fields of the Sorraia Valley. The reservoir, with a length of almost 20 km, extends from the vicinity of Ponte de Sor to close to the village of Montargil. Due to the large number of visitors to the site, a hotel (Hotel da Barragem) was built there, with a private ramp and rental service for boats, jet skis and sailboards. Urban ensemble formed by edifications of several periods, from the XVII century until the end of the XIX century. It begins at the Glória lift, where a palace (now used by the post) stands, and ends in a house belonging to the Ordem Soberana de Malta. Seize the opportunity to take a walk though the beautiful gardens on the area.

A 300 metres long pedestrian walk along the São Brás hill, with the peak at an altitude of 156 metres. This hill is surrounded by wide pine woods and is a privileged spot to view th city of Nazaré. It may be seen from a distance of 35 kilometres. It became a "Classed Site" in 1979, due to its flora.

Is an alternative space, with low prices and rock music, indie, and alternative. On Thursdays the rock is pure and hard, with appearances from some oldies like AC\/DC and Led Zeppelin.

This library has thirty thousand books, from the most important works to dictionaries and monographies. Its most valuable book is the printing of "Os Lusíadas" by Emílio Biel. There is an exhibitions room where there are temporary educational exibitions, conferences and music. Aside the library there is also a Museum with archaeological artefacts, clothings and regional craftswork.
