Monte da Amoreira, formerly supporting space hunters, was transformed into a space of agritourism. This former convent was built in a Valley once desert and it lies the chapel of Nossa Senhora da Orada (formerly called Hermitage). The enormous devotion to our Lady on the part of many local fishermen is demonstrated by the amount of "ex-votos" found in the chapel of the Convent and that illustrate the miracles that occurred through his intercession. In the churchyard are two graves of victims of the constitutional struggles of the 19th century.

Founded in the 12th century by the Benedictine Order, this monastery was significantly altered by a fire in 1664. It features a 16th-century cloister and part of a 17th-century one. The church, dating from the 17th century, features 17th- and 18th-century tiles. Notable features include the sculptures on the main altarpiece, attributed to Friar Cipriano da Cruz, the paintings on the choir stalls, the Rococo organ, and the cloisters.
