Also known as Termas de Sulfúrea, they are located approximately one kilometer to the southeast of the village. It is known that these waters were used by the Romans, and there are even traces of an ancient bathhouse, probably from the time of Caesar Augustus (119 BC). These medicinal waters are used to treat skin, respiratory, rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

The Casa do Caseiro is situated about 15 minutes away from Funchal, near the place where the famous descending of the "Carros de Cestos" (basket cars) takes place. It is a typical Madeira house, with two guest houses, one with more than 100 years and another built recently.

Building outside the walls of the fortress of Valença, designed by the architect Ventura Terra. It was built in the 20th century and throughout its history has had various occupations, first as a former Asylum Fonseca, after Portuguese School, Municipal School of Secondary Education and, currently, Escola Superior de Ciências Empresariais.

A church with medieval foundations, built on the site of na ancient mosque. It is a monument of the second half of the 13th century, where one should notice the gothic ogival portico of the front, the belltower with baroque decorations and, in the interior, the lateral chapels de Nossa Senhora da Consolação, Saint Brás and the chapel of the Souls.

Construída durante os séculos XVII e XVIII, apresenta um estilo barroco, com três naves e um altar-mor em talha dourada. Destaque, na capela do Santíssimo Sacramento, para o painel de azulejos representando o Agnus Dei.

The Leões Fountain, from 1878, is at the Praça Gomes Teixeira centre. This fountain, made in cast iron, was created in 1877 by the Compagnie Générale des Eaux pour L'Etranger. This company was responsible of the water in the city. The fountain has three overlapped cups and four winged lions where the water flows from.

Founded in 1896 on land provided by Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Santo Tirso, the spinning factory began operating in 1898. It is still possible to see the working-class neighborhood today, dating back to the 40s of the 20th century. The company was in operation until 1990. It currently operates as a space for events.

It is a 19th century sugar cane mill, classified as a Property of Local Cultural Value. Belonging to Companhia de Engenhos do Norte, which still manufactures cane spirits there, it is the only sugar mill operating according to the original 19th century technology, constituting a museum center of great heritage importance.

The monastery of this Palace was inhabited by Monks from 1451. In the Church, highlighted by a tomb set dating from the 15th and 16th centuries: Tomb of Fernão Teles de Meneses, dated 1481, and Tomb of João da Silva and Aires da Silva, designed by the sculptor Diogo Pires Manueline-o-Boy.

The Queen Santa Isabel Bridge, designed by engineer António Reis, is the latest road crossing over the River Mondego, consisting of two lanes to three lanes in each direction. Its inauguration in 2004, allowed faster access to the zone of the Valley of flowers and the Polo II da Universidade de Coimbra.
