Erected in the square with the same name, this statue, along with the city gates, forming the main entrance in the city of Ponta Delgada. Gonçalo Velho Cabral discovered the Formigas in 1431, following a first sighted Islands location trip by Diogo de Silves, in 1427. In 1432 landed on the islands of Santa Maria and São Miguel.

The classification includes the fifteen hundreds filling from which we can stand out several works on the lateral chapels attributed to João de Ruão, the sacrarium from 1542 and the Mercy altarpiece dating from 1554. This temple suffered several changes since the 16th century until the 19th century.

It is a zoomorphic stone sculpture from protohistoric times and is thought to be a votive statue to sacred animals.

The class for this Monument is religious, with Baroque features: the angels, the volutes on the façade and the drapery on the marble altarpiece, besides the blue and white glazed tiles. Its construction was done by the hands of Thomaz de Barros (person who puts the glazed tiles) and António Sequeiro (the painter). The oil paintings should also be pointed out.

Solar type "Tower House", with plant in Z consisting of bodies built at different times, unified by a 16th-century tower. Features a small chapel, where highlights a tile baseboard reused, some of the late 17th century and other Johannine production. He currently works as the unit of Turismo de Habitação.

Granite block located in the upper part of the village. It started out being called Penedo do Cheira, as it was located above the town of Cheira, but was later given the name Penedo de Castro, in 1908, in honor of the writer Augusto Mendes Simões Castro. This location offers an impressive panoramic view over Penacova.

The Ria de Aveiro is one of the most important and beautiful hydrographic features of the Portuguese coast. It extends for about 45 kilometers, parallel to the sea, where the Vouga, Antuã and Boco rivers flow. With a very diverse aquatic fauna, it is also a privileged place for water sports. It is the main natural attraction of the city of Aveiro.
