Built in the 16th century, it underwent profound changes, particularly to the exterior, during the 18th century. The altarpieces, dating from the 16th and 17th centuries, form the largest collection of Mannerist paintings in Portugal. The cloister, dating from the 18th century, is a highlight.

Theatre built in the end of the XIX century by the architect Tomás Augusto Soler. It was first called Teatro Dona Maria Pia, and then changed to Teatro Funchalense, after that to Teatro Manuel de Arriaga and at last Teatro Baltazar Dias, paying homage to the Madeira dramaturge from the XVI century.

Dating from the 19th century, this building has worked the Court of appeal, the headquarters and the Upper elementary school. It was later restored and transformed in the Bishop's Palace.

The pattern of centenarians has about 3 feet tall and its shape is a square. At the base are listed dates when the change in the coat of arms. At the top there are four coats Portuguese in face that corresponds to the date of deployment and cross of Christ surmounted by an armillary sphere.

Placed in a building dated from 1892, this hotel is adapted to modern times. It keeps the Parisian look that it had originally, with suites decor reminding the "Belle Époque". It has a refined ambience and an excellent service.

Romanesque building dating from the 13th century, which has undergone several changes over the centuries. The Romanesque portals, the modillion, the oculus and the pointed arches stand out.
