The Museum of geology at the UTAD was founded in 1985 by Prof. Dr. Fernando Real, notable geologist and Magnificent Rector of the Instituto Universitario de Trás-os-Montes that the following year would be the University of Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro. This monument evokes the ancient legend of cingeleiro. Pray this legend in the middle ages, a group of cingeleiros found a slab with the face of Christ Crucified, while going out there plowing the fields. Cultural Foundation created in the location where Aquilino Ribeiro lived, more precisely in a manor house dating from the 19th century where the writer lived. The house-museum has a private chapel, an interior courtyard and farm outbuildings. Here you can find hundreds of the writer's personal objects on display, including books, postcards and photographs.
