Located among the rocks, these pools are the ideal place for relaxing, swimming and sunbathing. They are formed from volcanic rocks that lent them some peculiar shapes.

There are four thermal springs at Pedras Salgadas: Dom Fernando, Grande Alcalina, Penedo and Pedras Salgadas. The springs are known since the roman days.

The Arrimal lagoons are surrounded by calcareous wells. The Lagoa Pequena (Small Lagoon), located by Arrimal, gets the water from its own basin. Both lagoons are surrounded by pyrenean oaks, a species that is rare in this region.

Located by the sea, this dune surrounded lagoon is th biggest set of lakes to the north of Sines. It is about 5 km long and 1 km wide and spreads inland along old rice fields. The red-crested pochard, the mallard, the coots and the black-necked grebes are some of the species that live in this habitat. Ideal for sailing or spending a day at th beach.
