The municipality of Vila Pouca de Aguiar, located at a strategic highway point between the Alvão and Padrela mountain ranges, is part of the Alto Tâmega subregion and boasts a rich historical and cultural heritage. As a predominantly agricultural municipality, it grows cereals, potatoes, vegetables, and some wine. Livestock also enjoys a privileged place in the pastures that cover the valleys.
