The site of Community interest of the tip of the castle is also classified as a special area of conservation, comprising an area of 153 hectares on land and 164 acres in sea. Reaches maximum attitude to 310 metres and, at sea, a maximum depth of 30 meters.
River Beach frequented primarily by the inhabitants of Barreiro. On this site are the traditional windmills do Barreiro (Giant windmill, Windmill wind mill East and West), which once fed with flour ovens of the largest biscuit production plant in the country.
A very lovely beach, located on the foothills of the Arrábida mountain. It has a small rocky island that is excellent for diving. Nearby, there is the Creiro archaeological site that features the ruins of a roman compound that was once used for salting the fish. It has quality restaurants.
The sign outside says it all: "the Eurico, Casa de Pasto, fish and fresh meat gralhados in coal". This site, which begins to be known by tourists, seduces the environment and decor well. Has a small grocery store with fresh products.
The earliest occupation of this site possibly dates back to pre-Roman, Roman or Muslim times, and it was later rebuilt in 1139. It has an irregular oval layout, with a square keep, three levels, straight arrow slits and a pointed arch doorway.
