The Art Centre of Ovar is a cultural equipment designed, in 2009, by architect John big boy that contemplates diverse Valances, and expresses its suitability for promotion and integrated development of culture, arts and tourism in the municipality of Ovar and in the region. The various spaces of the Art Centre (Auditorium, multipurpose room-exhibition gallery, rehearsal rooms, educational activities, recreation areas) make affordable access to a diverse universe of cultural initiatives, allowing full development and cultural fruition to all audiences.

This cultural centre offers a varied programme that includes music, dance and theatre performances, among other cultural events. The galleries feature 20th century fine arts exhibitions and other temporary exhibitions. The space organizes cinema and art programs, as well as meetings to discuss books and the arts.

Public education establishment specializing in music founded in 1986. After passing through other buildings, was installed here in September 2010. Its auditorium is host to a variety of cultural initiatives.
