Bioria, part of the Ria de Aveiro, is an area with a huge diversity of habitats that host a varied fauna and flora community. To protect this Natural Heritage, trails are being implemented along the seashores and the Salreu Tidal Creeks. The first is the Salreu Route, where you can admire the marshes and cultivated land, such as rice fields. The route is 8.5 km long and can be visited on foot or by bicycle, following the information signs.

Short walking route, suitable for walking or driving, integrated into the Douro International Park. With a length of around nine kilometers, it takes four hours on foot and one hour by car. It begins and ends at the Rural Interpretation Center, in the village of Bruçó, following paths through olive groves, among the cliffs of the Douro River. At the end of the trail, you can visit the traditional olive oil press, in the same village.

The Boa Nova waterfront area is a project by Álvaro Siza Vieira and António Madureira. Start your tour at Praia do Aterro, with walkways between the dunes and passing by a Surf Camp, continuing along Praia da Senhora da Boa Nova, until you see the famous Farol da Boa Nova. A village located on the foothills of the Sirigo mountain, that owes its name to the abundant aechaeoligical vestiges of the region, menhirs, dolmens and graves carved on the rocks. Built in 1747, the Tapada Nacional de Mafra was created with the aim of providing adequate involvement to the Mafra Palace, to constitute a recreational space for the King and his court and also to supply firewood and other products to the Convent. With an area of 1187 hectares, Tapada has a rich fauna and flora and offers a series of activities to the public, such as walking, mountain biking and train routes, night visits, traditional games and activities for the youngest.
