Ecomuseu de Barroso - Pólo de Pitões das Júnias

The pole of the Ecomuseum of Barroso, situated at the Court of the Ox of the people, work in network with the interpretive center, in Montalegre giving body to the following themes: the ox of the people, the extensive grazing, herds, the weaving, the shelters of shepherds, mountain farming, local production modes\/agricultural implements, the ethnographic heritage, the Smokehouse, the old village of Juríz, the monastery of Pitons, Parque Nacional da Peneda-Gerês and the natural heritage. The operation of the Museum is divided into two seasons of the year: in the months of June, July, August and September is open every day (except Monday); in the remaining months only open by appointment and on weekends.
