This Romanesque church was founded in the 12th century. It is also known as the Church of Our Lady of the Conception or the Church of the Acronyms due to its extraordinary carving of signs, or stonemason marks. The granite façade features a pointed arch portal with sculpted capitals. The interior has a single nave covered with a Hispano-Arabic ceiling. It is the only temple of the Premonstratensian (Augustinian) order in Portugal.

Located in a hermitage near Castelo Branco, this late-Gothic church was built by friars of the Order of the Temple. The entrance portal and the two lateral ones are ogival, while the interior features different tiles, of Hispano-Arabic origin, and records of frescoes. It comprises a single nave and an apsidal chapel, having been the subject of major works between the 17th and 19th centuries.

It used to be a part of the Convent of Saint Domingos, estroyed by a fire at the beginning of our century. The façade has a renaissance composition that circles the portal, which is sided by columns with chapiters. Between th columns there are two sculptures representing the Apostles. The interior has only one nave. A special note to the tomb of the Archbishop frei Bartolomeu, of 1590, who promoted the convent's construction.

It is also known as independence Palace. Is a valuable copy of the seventeenth-century civil architecture, with 16th century roots, in which stands out the gate, South facade, framed and superimposed a balcony of balusters to guarnecerem the central window, overmatched by the arms of Almada. Inside are two patios, with 16th century portals, taking the bottom two chimneys also 16th century.

A 16th-century church, rebuilt in the 18th century after the 1755 earthquake. It features a Renaissance portal, and its interior is extremely simple, with a single nave and a triumphal arch. The altarpiece in the main chapel, a polychrome woodwork decorated with gilded Baroque carvings, is noteworthy. One of the church's wings currently houses the Monsenhor Manuel Francisco Pardal Museum of Sacred Art.

The church consists of a rectangular nave and several dependencies, including the Dispatch Room. The main façade has an angular gable and quoins topped by pinnacles, and is pierced by a portal surmounted by a balustraded window with a broken pediment to accommodate the national coat of arms. Inside, the nave and elevated chancel are covered by the same three-tiered wooden ceiling, with the Joanine coat of arms painted on it.

This Gothic church suffered several transformations, particularly on the 18th century. On the main chapel it is possible to stand out the most remarkable Joanine altarpiece from the city, the golden carved altarpieces, and pelmets in Rocaille style and glazed tiles panels showing scenes from Christ life. About 1000 meters southwest of the village of Pitões das Júnias and camouflaged by a dense oak is the town abandoned of Gerez. Traces remain of about 40 houses of quadrangular, built with granite blocks, some crudely equipped. The streets between the houses are also well preserved, and still retain the lajeado. The Chiado Museum or Modern Art National Museum, offers a panoramic of the Portuguese art from 1850 to 1960, from the romantic to the modernism period, going through the naturalism, the surrealism and the abstractionism periods. Subordinated to the theme “From Columbano till the Modernism”, this is the biggest collection of Portuguese contemporaneous art, with paintings, sculpture and drawings. It also has a French art collection from the end of the XIX century.

This church is also known as São Luís Church, together with the monastery it was founded in 1596 by Luís de Figueiredo Falcão and used to belong to the Clarisse orders. It has some elements from the sixteen hundreds and from the eighteen hundreds. From the first period, it stands out the only nave, the ceiling and the main chapel coverage; from the second period stands out the doorway, the windows and the main elevation.
