The Areaias Farm is located where there once was the Furamontes Farm or Casal of the Chapel, dating back to the 18th century. A special not to the "caseiro" (the man in charge) house, a granit cross that signals the place of a very old chapel (1758) devoted to Our Lady of Pilar. The Oporto Town Hall acquired it on 1937 and installed the Municipal Orchards there (among the finest in the country) with very important vegetal species.

A village located between the meanderings of the River Varosa, it was the county seat until the 19th century, the time of liberal reforms. The Casa de Sequiade, dating from the 18TH century, was the old main house of Quinta da Lata, having been rebuilt in 1996. It has three bedrooms and three apartments and a very nice outdoor space landscaped with beautiful corners.
