Enjoying an excellent state of preservation, the Castro de Romariz is a fortified settlement dating from the 5th century BC, with occupation levels extending to the 1st century AD, and is considered one of the most significant archaeological sites in the Entre Douro e Vouga region. Located on the left bank of the Douro River, directly facing Oporto's Ribeira (riverside), the Gaia Ribeira is a lively area, most especially during the summer. The tourists do not resist the temptation of a walk on this side of the river and of visiting the Port Wine Cellars. The Cais de Gaia, a space that includes many bars and restaurants with lovely terraces near the banks is more recent.

Although the antiquity of the church is evident in the thickness of the walls, clearly visible in the deep cut of the windows, and it is believed to have Romanesque roots, the temple probably only dates from the 14th century. It underwent extensive renovations in the mid-18th century, which gave it the baroque and rococo character it presents today. Fajã de large dimensions, but with a smaller population, this site offers visitors a haven of peace and tranquility, where water from draining down the hills mark a strong presence. In addition to the nearly fifty houses, you can find the Hermitage of our Lady of Fatima and the fountain which stands next to this. Be sure to notice the interesting lava formations.

Traces of a fortified village, located a short fortified amplitude, on a promontory over the river Assureira. On the north side, over the River, as well as on the upper deck, the traces of settlement are more obvious and consist of the alignment of a thick wall and the accumulation of stones from the collapse of structures. Not been identified ceramic or other booty consistent with human occupation of the site in prehistory.

This is one of the largest concentrations of granaries in Portugal, all built of stone. In total, there are 24 granaries of the Galician-Minho type, the oldest dating from 1782. The sacred character given to the site is evident, due to the crosses on top of the granaries, which, according to local people, are for divine protection of what is stored there, often the only means of community survival.

This is one of the rock art sites in the Valley of the Coa, forming a rare set of this type of art, essentially composed of stone engravings dated from the Upper Paleolithic. This core consists of a single rock, where you can observe a set of engraved motifs depicting anthropomorphic figures semiesquemáticas, armed with Spears and riding horses semiesquemáticos with reins.

After following the municipal road, access to this site is gained on foot via an approximately 50 metre long trail. This 30 metre high waterfall is found in the environs of Fóia, located at the beginning of Ribera do Barbelote. From the peak, the highest point of the mountain range at 902 metres, one can enjoy a beautiful panoramic view.
