The museum opened in 1982 after a donation from the antique dealer Manuel Gameiro, with the City Council providing the building. It is divided into five themed rooms, allowing for an understanding of national and local history from the 18th century.

At this nucleus you may admire a classroom from the 1950’s/60’s, with all the elements and materials used at the time, from the wood writing-desks to the old school books, blackboard and maps, among others.

Very simple Church that features Latin crosses insculpidas. The chancel is higher, resulting from intervention from the 18th century. The altarpieces-mores and souls are polychrome and gilded in Baroque style. The font is of 16th century construction.

Church built in 1714, under a primitive church dating from 1480. Inside, highlights include the gilded carvings in the main chapel and a bookcase with ivory inlays, the work of a friar from São Francisco da Horta.

This church is dated from the 18th century and here can be stand out the campanile, and on the inside the altars golden carve and the Calvary arch. The ceilings, formed by coffers, display painted figures by Dmaião Valliasoleti from 1773.

Church of baroque architectural composition, has an interior lined with tiles from the 18th century by Policarpo de Oliveira Bernardes. This set, representing scenes from the life of the patron saint, is one of the most important in the country.

Temple of Romanesque origin, altered in later times. The portico is made of archivolts based on columns with carved capitals. Inside, a sculpture from the 15th century and two paintings on wood from the 16th century stand out.

This Padrão was rose by orders of D. Afonso VI as a celebration from Linhas de Elvas battle. It was constructed in white marble from Estremoz and it is formed by a Tuscan column settled above a square pavement with three steps.
