Initially belonging to a female monastery of the order of St. Benedict, founded in the 12th century. However, the extinction of the monastery, in 1418, and the subsequent construction of a new parish church dictated its gradual downfall. Despite the transformations suffered in the 18TH century, the original factory of this church, of small dimensions, constitutes a good testimony of late Romanesque architecture, as evidenced by its main portal. It is worth noting the dogs, of geometric decoration, their elevations sides and Corbels that accuse the existence of a porch on the South side of the Church.

Being the polychromy and exuberance of the shapes the main features of Baroque, it is not possible to walk through the city without noticing the many baroque buildings the city owns. The chapel of Veral, dedicated to s. Martinho, rectangular plant East\/West oriented, are deployed within a walled courtyard. The granite walls are partially covered with plaster and painted white. The main façade has a rectangular portal, flanked by two horizontal slots, surmounted by inscriptions alluding to rebuilding this area in the 19th century. Inside this Chapel, divided by an arch, stands the high altar and two side altars in polychrome and gilded carvings, religious imaginary housing. This is the chapel which is celebrated the mass of the feast in honour of s. Martinho.
