Built in 1715, by the spot where the medieval wall used to be, it had the castle behind, whose donjorl was preserved. In front of the arcade was the Campo de Santa Ana, ordered by D. Diogo de Sousa in the XVI century. Between 1761 and 1767, at the time of the archbishop D. Gaspar de Bragança, the central nucleus of the arcade was opened and the Igreja da Lapa (church), with an André Soares drawing, was built.

The National Railway Museum comprises several museum centers located throughout the country, with the Central Museum located in the city of Entroncamento. Currently, the Entroncamento Museum Set expanded and renovated its facilities. Within this space, the former Locomotive Roundabout is open to visitors, housing a permanent exhibition featuring some of the most important examples of this type of railway vehicle, powered by steam, diesel, or electric power.

Open since 1985, it is one of the oldest museums in the country dedicated to the theme of wine. It aims to promote traditions linked to the rural world, especially wine production and vine cultivation. It evokes the history and the different steps necessary for wine production, from planting the vines to bottling. It has a typical tavern, a restored old wine cellar, and a permanent exhibition with decorations alluding to bulls, horses, and cowboys.

Museum based in the former São Francisco convent, open since 1949. It is a history museum, with a permanent exhibition organized in four parts: "Knowledge of the Azores Islands", "Angra, the Azores and the World", "From the General Captaincy to Liberalism" and "From the 2nd half of the 1800s to the present". Also noteworthy are Azorean paintings on wood from the 16th-17th centuries and an Artillery Battery that Portugal used in the 1st World War.

The Museu de História Natural is part of the Faculdade de Ciências da Universidade do Porto (Faculty of Science of the Porto University). It was created in 1996 and has several poles of other museological nucleus of former institutions. This museum has three rooms open to the public, the mineralogy room Montenegro de Andrade, the palaeontology room Wenceslau de Lima and the archaeology and pre- historic Mendes Côrrea.
