Originating in the nucleus founded in 1942 by the Fundão native who gives it its name, the José Monteiro Municipal Archaeological Museum, opened in 2007, is located in the former Solar Taborda Falcão de Elvas, and has a permanent exhibition room with several pieces tfrom prehistory to the end of the Roman period, a space for temporary exhibitions, an auditorium, a conservation and restoration laboratory, a library specializing in History and Archeology, an Internet space and a bar.

The museum opened in 1918 and is located in a 16th-century mansion next to the Cathedral. After renovations, it reopened in 2012. The museum's museum program highlights the collection of Sacred Art and Faience. The Temporary Exhibition Room features an exhibition of paintings on Portalegre, featuring works by contemporary Portuguese painters such as Manuel d'Assumpção, João Tavares, Arsénio da Ressurreição, Benvindo Ceia, Abel Santos, and Miguel Barrias, among others.

This Roman Theatre Museum, opened in 2001, shows what was the theatre of the ancient city of Olisipo. Is housed in a 17th century building, which has been refurbished over the centuries. The Museum encompasses multiple areas where you expose archaeological remains and traces which refer not only to the time of Theatre (1st century), but also for other traces which bear witness to an intense human occupation of this site.

This is the first hostel in the city of Aveiro, opened in July 2009. Located in one of the common areas of the city, near the canal da ria de Aveiro, offers 39 beds distributed across eight rooms and two suites with private bathroom. The rooms ' names allude to the city and to their traditions, like the room, the room Salinas Moliceiro and soft eggs. It also has a living room, a kitchen, a patio and a terrace.

Over each portico, there is a large rectangular window with a deep beveled frame. The façade is divided by pilasters and the building is flanked by a solid square tower. It has three naves and five spans of round arcades on Doric columns. Inside the church, the coating with polychrome tiles stands out.

Traces of large gold holdings, active by vast periods, especially in the Roman period, medieval and modern, admitting that might have known exploration at a time more remote, in Proto-history. Are visible evidence of large open excavations, numerous cut mining galleries and heaps, over a wide area. One of the areas form a pond, which have given rise to the name of the place, "Poço das Freitas".

The Rossio Caves were re-found between 1940 and 1950 as a result of the exploration of subterranean quarries with the system of opening tunnels and wide rooms. In the 18th century it furnished calcareous rocks used in the construction of millstones. In the summer one may visit them between 9 am and noon and from 4 pm to 8 pm and in the winter from 10 am to noon and between 2 pm and 5 pm.
