A small palace of bourgeois features, where one should notice the symmetry of the façades and the axis of the prominent main façade. One should also pay close attention to the grandeur of the atrium and the stairway leading up to the main floor, as well as the mural paintings in some of the rooms.

The work began in 1777 and finished only one century later. It is a building with sober lines with influence of the Italian “new taste”.

This building is from the 17th century and it presents beautiful bays and molten iron balconies. According to some voices, it was born here Frei Luís de Sousa an important individuality from the Portuguese literature.

Work of the architect Frederico Ludovice, from 1747, as the memorial stone in the central window says. The building has five floors of unequal height, being the third and the forth floors with a balcony.

Construction ordered by the grandfather of the Marquês de Pombal, it is a palace from the XVII century with improvements made between 1760 and 1770. Besides its architectonical and artistic value, it also has the historic importance of being the birth place and house of the Marquês de Pombal. Its two main façades envelop an interior garden. There are two large gates facing north.
