The oldest temple feature is the primitive image of its patron saint - Saint Bartholomew - in calcareous rock (14th century), currently in the parish residence of Santiago do Cacém.

Porta da Ravessa or Porta do Sol is one of the two doors of the castle and holds the mark official mark that cloth manufacturers had to bear in markets and fairs.

Here were, in the 16th and 17th centuries, bullfights, on the occasion of the main parties, being so called Terreiro do Run. In the 19th century was the fruit and vegetable market.

Ribeira de Seda originates in Serra de São Mamede and crosses the municipalities of Portalegre and Crato, entering Alter do Chão and then flowing into the Maranhão dam, in Avis.

This river starts at Albergaria dos Doze, in the municipality of Pombal, it crosses Soure and Vila Nova de Anços and flows to the Mondego river. It is about 60 kilometres long.

The Homem River is a tributary on the right bank of the Cávado, with a length of 37 kilometers. It rises in the Serra do Gerês and it is on this river that the Vilarinho das Furnas hydroelectric plant is located.

The construction of the Vale do Rossim dam, located in the municipality of Gouveia, enabled the emergence of this recreational/leisure space where the surrounding landscape and water quality stand out.
