The apartments on the Douro are situated on the shore of the port, in a traditional building, but fully renovated and decorated appealingly. The eight apartments are equipped with kitchen and have privileged views over the river and city views.

A 15 metres tall waterfall with admirable views in the winter or in the beginning of the spring. From the mount Córdova massif, the region's belvedere, a special note to the Padrão Hill, with very lovely views.

A restaurant that is surrounded by glass windows, with views of the Sintra mountain, where it is also posible to view the sea in the clearer days. The menu features regional and foreign dishes. Good wine list.

A castle located in a border area that was the scene of many war campaigns. The construction of the wall, reinforced with semi-cylindrical towers, was the result of a deal between the people of Alegrete and King Dinis: the residents would build the wall, and the monarch would grant the charter. In addition to repopulating the village, Dinis built the keep and, in 1319, continued the work begun by his father, Dom Afonso III. The old town clock stood at the main gate of the old fence.

A Mannerist building, rebuilt in the 18th century. The interior walls are covered in 17th-century blue and white tiles depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. At the back of the church is a eucalyptus grove that ends in a fountain, the Fonte da Senhora or Fonte Santa, where, according to legend, Our Lady of Atalaia appeared. The traditional symbolic "Lavagens" are still held there today during the parish's main pilgrimage, which takes place on the last Sunday in August.

This hotel is located very near the town's centre, in a place from where it is possible to view Albufeira and its beaches. The rooms, remodelled in 1989, have private balconies with a view to the land or the sea, a fully equipped bathroom, satellite TV, radio and telephone. The bar and the restaurant are located in a large terrace with beautiful views.

A building locatd at the top of a hill, with lovely panoramic views of the entire island. Most of the rooms have sea views. It has also a rustic restaurant, a swimming pool, a solarium and a sauna. About 30 metres away from the hotel there are to T1 apartments for rental,very well equipped and also with a lovely view.

Within this magnificent monument, the extensive walls, the quadrangular turrets, the keep, and what remains of the barbicans are preserved, bearing witness to its defensive value. Rebuilt during the reign of King Manuel I, the armillary sphere, a Manueline-style window opening in the coastal wall, and the royal coat of arms are visible. Inside the walls, vestiges of the Chapel of Saint Michael and a Romanesque colonnade remain.

16th century church ordered to be built by the monarch King Manuel I. Temple with three naves where the gilded altars and tiles from the Lisbon School stand out inside. There are also some traces of Spanish-Moorish tiles from the 16th century. The bell tower was built later, in the 17th century. Some of the assets were stolen during the French Invasions.

Founded in 1217, this convent became a reference of the urban structure and the history of the city’s evolution. The fact that the earthquake of 1755 didn’t affect it seriously shows us the robustness of its walls, pillars and arches. It is presently occupied by institutions connected to the teaching of arts and by the Contemporaneous Art National Museum.
