A village located at an altitude of about one thousand metres, part of the so-called "Terra Fria" (Cold Land). It gave its name to the Natural Park of Montesinho, of which it is a part. A special note to the beautiful surrounding landscapes, with the green of the morasses in contrast with golden and reddish of the woods and to the popular buildings in schist and granite. Its inhabitants still maintain some ancient communal uses. Do visit the "casa abrigo" (shelter house) and the dam. The area is also good for mountainering.

A very old village located on the foothills of the Serra da Estrela, it has a section of Roman road. The main church, known as the Catedral das Beiras, stands out. It is a large temple with gilded carvings, a ceiling with 102 paintings, and liturgical vestments. Nearby, the "Curral dos Romanos," also known as the Dólmen da Sobreda (Property of Public Interest), a curious olive press from the medieval period, in the town of Rio de Mel, and the Penedo da Moura, a natural cave, are worth a visit.

Fábrica de Chá Porto Formoso was founded by Amâncio Machado Faria e Maia and operated between the 1920s and the 1980s. Recently, it has been undergoing a recovery process. Visitors can enjoy the estate's vast panoramic gardens, visit the museum space and the tea factory itself. Afterwards, they can relax and taste one of the factory's specialties in the tea room. It has a private park.

Although its exact founding is uncertain, it is known that a Jewish quarter existed in Castelo de Vide in the 14th century. A visit to the Castelo de Vide Synagogue Museum will allow visitors to explore the interior of this place of worship, including the tabernacle, with its recesses for the lamps of the "Holy Oils." To the right of this piece, a tabletop for the sacred scriptures, with seven balls embedded at the base, representing the six days in which God created the world and the seventh day, the final day of rest from his work.

Belonging to a family's flagship in the transformation of iron, even today it is possible to visit it (being active) and take a piece of memory. Here you can see the transformation of iron, since it is heated in the furnace until it hit the pestle, a large plunger activated by a pedal. In the end, if it's a small part, the mould is done on the anvil, and finally the piece sauced and cooled …
