With 8 ha, it is the oldest green area of the Parque Forestal de Monsanto. The net of ways in the woods is over 50 years and the dominant tree species are the large eucalyptus. It has a restaurant, playground, a swimming pool and fitness circuit.

A beach that is used as a sheltering harbour.On the sand, one can see the typical fishing boats and one can also view traditional activities such as the making of the fishing nets and the picking up of the algae.It has an open air seafood market.

These ruins are all that is left from an Arab fortress which was used to defend Lagos bay. The castle was conquer in 1189 by D. Sancho I but later returned to the Arabs power and afterwards, in 1250 D. Afonso III reconquested it. These are the remains after the destruction provoked by the 1755 earthquake.

The construction of this fort began in 1643 by order of King D. João IV and was concluded during the reign of King D. Pedro II. The objective of this fort was to reinforce the gun power of S. Filipe fortress. It is located near the Albarquel beach, in the area of the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park.

This convent was founded in 1485 as pantheon of d. Rodrigo Melo, the high usher of King d. Afonso v. is a specimen of the Gothic-Manueline architecture, of Arabic influence. On the façade is Gothic and neoclassical elements can be found. The monastery conserves the chapter room which features a mudejarismo Alentejo style.
