Opened in 2002, this space was designed by the architect João Ribeiro, occupying an area of about two hectares. Divided into five vegetation zones and leisure spaces, asserting itself as a great space for leisure.

With about four hectares, this green space provides a fantastic view to the estuary and Troia. Has playground, restaurant, café-bar with terrace, exhibition gallery, and is prepared to practice various sports\/leisure activities.

Situated in the "heart" of the city of Horta, the Praça da República garden is a small landscaped space where stands out the traditional Bandstand. Leafy trees around the garden, making it the ideal space to relax after a walk by the marginal zone or picturesque lanes of the city.

This viewpoint offers the best views of the island. Delight in the green hills that surround the Fajã de São João which rises inside, framed by the blue sea.

The Cabeço Gordo is the highest point on the island of Faial, with an elevation of 1043 feet. Natural viewpoint par excellence, in day of clear skies can enjoy the crater of the Caldeira, the Flemings and the bays of the city of Horta.

It's breathtaking that this viewpoint scene has to offer, since weather conditions so permit. The boiler, refuge of the laurissilva forest and, nowadays, a nature reserve, presents itself with a crater of 2000 meters in diameter and 400 feet deep. A feast for the eyes that has to be appreciated from above because the descent, in addition to dangerous, is prohibited.

Overlooking the city of Horta, Monte Carneiro is a volcanic cone and a natural viewpoint par excellence. From the top of its 267 meters above sea level you can see the entire city of Horta, including marina and the zone of Porto Pim, the Flemish Valley and the island of Pico. A landscape of rare beauty that makes the delights of any professional or amateur photographer.
