Vila Nova de Famalicão

This Romanic church was built on the 13th century and here one stands out the paintings and the main chapel carving and the ceiling with coffers. The doorway is topped by a rose window and it possesses four archivolts settled in four columns with decorated capitals. The nave has rather big dimensions and finishes in triumphal arch with two half columns and capitals with zoomorphic decoration.

The building conserves the lancet doors and it is surrounded by a porch. On the façade left side there is the bell ringer tower. On the inside it presents a nave wrapped in glazed tiles under the “carpet” type, from 1681 standing out, also, the remaining glazed tiles coverage that decorates the church. The Manueline main chapel possesses an ample lancet arch and crossed vault.

This is a large, sober construction from the XVII century, ordered by the minister António de Sousa Macedo, well integrated at the urban mesh. It started in a primitive nucleous where the chapel stands. The palace developed occupying the entire quarter, having the main façade facing north. It keeps panelling of glazed tiles from the XVII and XVIII centuries.

They date back to medieval times but are displaced from the location of the archaeological find. These sarcophagi are carved from granite blocks in an advanced state of deterioration, they belonged to the cemetery of the old church of Vila Nova à Coelheira.

The House of Segude has a lovely garden with a circle shape and a fountain with a drawing of Our Lady of Santa Luzia on tiles. It also has a chapel, two graves with animals, shields and inscriptions and a statue by Nicolau Coelho, the founder of the House. Even though nobody lives there, its main activity is agriculture, which is divided into wine and fruit production.

Urban Solar from the late 19th century, emblazoned, where is located the Municipal Library. The main façade is developed in three volumes: two lateral and one central surmounted by a pediment. Four pillars demarcating these bodies or symmetrical wings. The two floors of the building are separated by copings, balustrade, (two on the tops and two demarcating the central body).

Mirandela

An 18th-century mansion with a longitudinal plan, it consists of three distinct sections, separated by the main body. In the center of the building, atop the central section, is the coat of arms of the Counts of Vinhais. The stonework is also notable. It served as the headquarters of the Portuguese Youth and the Portuguese Legion from 1959 onwards and housed the Institute of Employment and Professional Action between 1975 and 1992.

This residential building has characteristics from plain architecture. It is composed by two floors and chapel, dated in 1770. During the XVII, XVIII and XIX centuries this residence was slowly increased, as the granites on the main façade can testify. The inside preserves the big rooms with walls covered with paper, some ceilings in wood and an atrium with tiles from the eighteen hundreds.
