The national monument classification includes the tomb of Sir Jorge de Lencastre, son of King João II, in Arrábida marble. Baroque church that maintains its original design, consisting of a very simple nave. It was built during the reign of Kings João V and José I. Highlights include the pulpit built in schist and the typical tiles of the Real Fábrica de Lisboa. The portal displays a marbled medallion of the order of penance, symbolized by the cord surrounding two tables.

Building dated from the end of the XVIII century, the former residence of the Carvalhal Counts. The seven wicker balconies in forged iron and the portal sided by two iron lanterns are worthy of notice. It worked as a hotel, a college and international club and is now the property of the City Council and headquarters of Regional Archive of Madeira, the Municipal Library, the Museum and the Municipal aquarium of Funchal.

A 16th-century church with a single nave, pilasters at the corners, a main façade finished with a gable and cornice, with openings forming a central axis consisting of the Mannerist portal surmounted by a niche with an image of Our Lady of Mercy. The interior is completely stripped of its former structure and decoration, preserving only the chancel arch, a perfect arch on pilasters, with traces of paint.

Alfundão is one of the oldest villages in the Alentejo, with 51.90 km2 of area and 998 inhabitants. There are some Roman remains, such as two inscriptions dedicated to the goddess Fortuna that demonstrate the importance of this land in the Roman period. Even without major documentary confirmations by the 13th century Alfundão would be a landlord with its own jurisdiction. In 1372, Ferdinand donated her term to Diogo Afonso de Carvalhal, a period from which happened to have, even in fleeting, the category of village.

This Convent assembles a set of buildings of extreme beauty. Although it is a construction from the XV century it is yet what it was built for 500 years ago: a convent of Franciscan nuns. The main chapel of the Nossa Senhora da Conceição church owns a magnificent silver sacrarium. It also has a large glazed tiles carpet from the XVIII century, representing the famous Santa Clara stone monument and, at the entrance, an important gothic tomb from the end of the XV century.
