Statue inaugurated in 1914 paying homage to the Portuguese navigator from the XV century João Gonçalves Zarco, who discovered this Island.

This 17th century building has a main façade which is classified that presents an indented gable with two winged dragons that have human faces, sided by two dolphins and, in the centre, a head of a black warrior with decorations. On the foundations, one can see inscriptions that indicate the aesthetic and decorative influences from Brazil.

Church of white facade and with fine shot in blue, with three arches on the porch, which was founded by d. Nuno Álvares Pereira who have prayed before the battle of Atoleiros, from which it emerged victorious. Outside one can see a tile Panel built by poet borbense Azinhal Abelho.

Built, probably, in the XII century, it was rebuilt in the XIII century by the Templar, and suffered later various acts of vandalism, being reduced to ruins. It suffered successive interventions and is now a work mainly from the XIX century.

Small garden-like square, with several commercial establishments around it. At the centre rises a statue paying homage to Joaquim António de Aguiar.
