Today only traces in ruins, which are not easily detetáveis, given its integration into the urban fabric of the town. In the 16th century was built here the Chiesa Madre (mother church), with five buttresses; has Watch Tower dating back to 1798.
This monument, with a bronze bust, was open in 1926, by Tomás da Costa, in the former Cordoaria Garden, today João Chagas Garden. Here, the work of the poet called “Só” is quoted. It is made with flowers’ bouquets and a lyre allegoric to its poetical inspiration.
The Church consists of nave and chancel with square vestry. Inside you can see three altars, small excerpts of mural paintings of geometric motifs and a main altarpiece in marble. Interior of unusual richness to a Hermitage. Today is also the funeral parlour.
The campsite of Berlenga Island, situated on a hillside, enjoys a splendid location, with direct access to the crystal-clear sea. Certainly you will be surprised with the tranquility of everyday life of this park, which is today one of the parks most sought after by foreign tourists.
Located in a fishing neighborhood, it has a small sheltered harbor where, as the name suggests, fish that arrived here were once sold. Today it is a tourist beach, with a large sandy area and good quality water. The sea is calm and inviting for swimming.
This is one of the oldest shopping centres of Aveiro. Opened in 1983, it still works today. It has three floors and on the top floor you can find a cinema, which bets in self-governing cinema. It owns 41 shops and a catering área.
