The Lenta river beach has a small sandy area, contrasting with the large surrounding leisure space. This verdant area, measuring around 30,000 square meters, has beautiful riparian forests that extend to the banks of the river. Located in the Parish of Lovelhe, next to INATEL, it has good access and good support infrastructure, such as a car park, picnic area, a bar and even a lifeguard. The funicular railway connects the lower part of Nazaré to Sítio, covering a total of 318 meters. It was inaugurated in 1889, as the difficulty of access to Sítio always hampered the development of the area and the settlement of its inhabitants. In 1963, after a major accident, it was out of service for several years, returning to service in 1968. In the 21st century, the carriages were renovated for greater comfort and safety for the more than one million users who use this means of transport annually.

This fortification was built in the 12th and 13th centuries and later expanded by King Dinis.
