It belongs to the Natural Park of the Estrela Mountain and it is the highest massif in the country, with a maximum altitude of 1991 metres in the Torre (Tower). This is where the Mondego, Zêzere and Alva rivers start. It is mostly composed of granite, even though there is also also schist. A well signaled trail that starts at the Felgueiras Camping. A 3.7 km walk in a maximum of two hours. The trail is accessible and passes by the Portas House and by Roman Paths, among other monuments of public interest.

Travel through nature, through medieval paths, always with the necessary directions and historical notes. The walk has a length of 6.2 km, which means 2-3 hours walking. It is possible to pass by the Pombeiro Monastery, by the Vila Fria Bridge, among other points of public interest.

This is a set of prysmatic columns with irregular shapes, popularly known as the "Piano". This is where one can find the Pedreira belvedere, from where one can view the Fora islets and the Facho and Castelo peaks.

These caves were discovered in 1971 and have a configuration of the gallery/room/well type. There are lovely rooms and galleries filled with calcareous formations, while the area that may be visited is of 350 metres and the depth of 45 metres. There is a subterranean bar in an adjacent cave, that of Cova da Moura, with an illuminated grotto that is about 50 metres long.

A hill that 977 metres high, tem kilometres long and 7.5 kilometres wide and belongs to the Old Massif of Entre Douro e Tejo (Between Douro and Tagus). Rope-way teleferic opened in 2003, allowing the access to the fajãs (flat forelands that formed by lava flowing into the ocean and landslides and collapsing cliffs) at the Cabo Girão. It offers a lovely panoramic view.

The bike lane of Almeirim is a via for touring cyclists and all those who are interested in the site. A good way to get to know the region more healthy!
