There are two entrance doors to the former village: the door of the village and port of Santarem.

Of the Castle's Doors all that is left is the entrance arch and a pillory.

Monument inaugurated on July 3, 2005, on the day commemorating the 166th anniversary of Povoação becoming a municipality. It represents the place where the first settlers of São Miguel Island docked. It consists of small, high-relief images of prominent figures from that time.

The Portas do Sol are one of the entrances to the fortification of Valença, built in the 17th century, and built to cope with struggles for independence. Also called Santiago doors, the doors of the Sun have Postern in round arch, flanked by two arched doorways and Windows of the same profile.
