Located on a plain above the Alva river, Sabugueiro is the highest village in Portugal (an altitude of 1050 metres). Ribeira de Pera rises in Serra da Lousã, more precisely in Porto Ervideiro, at 1180 meters above sea level. It crosses the municipality of Castanheira de Pera and Pedrógão Grande and flows into the Zêzere. Along the way, there are other points of interest, such as the caster mills and the old oil mill.

When you get to the mouth, the big Ria de Aveiro, the Vouga River spreads in fairways (being that some get into the city itself). Behind are 150 km, since the Serra da Lapa, and several contributions to thicken the flow, the last of them quite close to the mouth – the Águeda River.

With clear skies may be seen the serra de São Mamede, the Crato and Cabeço de Vide.
