Tourém is one of the most non-typical borderline areas in Portugal. A village of old houses and narrow dirt roads, plus a small bridge on the Tourém - Selas river dam, that separates Portugal and Spain. Sometimes the flocks go eat on any side of the border and force the cars to stop for a while.

As the Memorial of the Hermitage, this monument from the 13th century have been a stopping point on the way of transfer of the body of d. Mafalda for the monastery of Arouca. Consists of two horizontal slabs placed at two levels. Are connected by two vertical blocks in the form of funerary stele, with ornate circular trim crosses.

The Fontaínhas Viewpoint is located in one of the historic areas of the city of Porto. It is located next to Ponte do Infante and, from here, you can see Vila Nova de Gaia, on the other side of the river, as well as part of the popular D. Luís I Bridge. It is also one of the most used places to see the fireworks foe the Saint John feasts.

During the daytime the tourist train travels through several of the town’s streets. The train makes six stops: the casino, Pescadores beach, Avenida do Rio, the camping site, D. João II street and Hotel Náutico. The journey can be made between 10am and 00:35am and costs 2.50€.

The plan is tempting: enjoying the city, through the river! An unusual sight, on a two hours journey on board of a special boat from Transtejo, with the presence of a translator guide. The ship sails fluvial station at the Terreiro do Paço and makes a tour with stops at the monumental and historical area of Belém and at the Parque das Nações.

The Carris offers two alternative touristic circuits, in double-deckers: The Tejo and the Orient Express circuits. They both start in Praça do Comércio and have an interpreter guide. The passengers may leave the bus whenever they want to visit any particular place they are interested in and, then, return to the circuit again. The Tejo circuit runs through downtown and the historical area of Belém, where you can see monuments such as Jerónimos Monastery, Belém Tower and Padrão dos Descobrimentos (stone monument of the Portuguese discoveries). Procession that runs through the streets between the See and the Calvary, three weeks before Easter. Thirteen days after, the procession makes the way back.

Green area opened in 1992 where one can see different species of trees and bushes, some from Madeira and other more exotic.
